Miss USA 2012 Olivia Culpo & Review

June 3, 2012 in Banner, Entertainment, Pageants

On June 3, 2012, the 61st Annual Miss USA Pageant was held in Las Vegas with all the normal attractions: beauty, swimsuits, evening gowns, and of course WHAT WERE THEY THINKING.

Congratulations to Miss USA 2012 Olivia Culpo, former Miss Rhode Island for her win and her accomplishments. But this article is about WHAT WERE THEY THINKING.

I was extremely disappointed with the production, hosts, musical performance and not to mention OHH MY GOD the Judges.

First the JUDGES. I highly recommend that from now on, unless you are a talented celebrity, please stay away from judging. I realize that Donny needs to have socialites celebrities to help boost rating and younger viewers, who in droves have gotten away from this pageant.

Second, AKON. I like him, no take that back, I know of him. This is the same talent that I personally ushered out of a photo opt with T.I., had a great song, (which looked to be lip sung) did not even wear appropriate shoes to match his tucks.

Third, HOSTS: Andy and Guiliana, who I actually like individually, were HORRIBLE. No chemistry, forced jokes, long delays, repetitive commentating, and add some unpleasant color commentating and interview by Kelly Osbourne and Jeannie Mai. Wow, thank god for DVR for I was able to skip thru that pain aching listening and watching. Ohh yeah, did I forget the PURPLE. Yuck!!!

Forth, PRODUCTION. Ok this is my area of interest the most. Although I produce on smaller scales, I could have done a more interesting job and for less money. SERIOUSLY. WHAT WERE THEY THINKING.

Where do I begin? How was with the camera getting as close to the contestants and filling up the screen as if I was front and center for root canal exam? or How about telling the contestants not to take their eyes off the camera with that sexy, sultry, come get me attitude and made me, a male, shy away and plead for wider angel? or How about those question and answer session that BORE me to sleep, only to wake up to the viewer question and an answer I will bet anything was not true feelings. Please, be a natural born woman and compete. If you are not, then you can NOT. I wonder if Donald Trump will make an exception for me since I am a sensitive emotional man and cry during movies and even commercials. Please Donald.

But, I will save my best and worst WHAT WERE THEY THINKING to the music montage Call Me Maybe by Carly Rae Jepson that I have been encouraging pageants to do for three years, only to have few wise director take me up on my offer.  Miss USA Pageant , I want credit, I want proper tag, and Please I want a better editor. How awful were those syncing of the lines and audio, Steven or Ray I guarantee would have done a better job. Maybe now pageant directors will take my advice about making their pageant a little more into new trend. Call on me NOW.

This was an awful production, but I believe we can be thankful that the girls did not appear in lingerie on a bed for a photo shoot, or well, at least miss Nevada thought she was.

PS. Really, Georgia was beautiful. GA was ripped off. To have her place 4th, SERIOUSLY. Why, WHy. WHY? Georgia was a super contestant, beautiful, composed, elegant, and classy.  Jazz Wilkins should have been in the top two in my opinion.

I don’t want to take anything away from new Miss USA 2012 Olivia Culpo.
